At first glance this sounds kind of cruel, but it was all done safely and for a great cause! The Dallas Stars lowered a dog down from the rafters before their game last night. The dog was secured and lowered safely along with a member of 22 Kill which is a military veteran's outreach program.

That dog is named Patty and she's a trained service dog. After being lowered down she was presented as a gift to Military Veteran Cary Flatt.
