Jason and Mike react to the New York Mets defeating the Philadelphia Phillies, officially eliminating them from postseason contention. After watching the Phillies fall short year after year, Jason sees this as the final nail in the coffin: it's time for them to blow up their roster.
Jason Smith: "After today, I am 100 percent positive that the Phillies should be broken up. All the All-Stars; get rid of everybody. When the fans and the media are more upset about the Phillies losing to the Mets than the players are, it's time for change... All the stuff they've said in the last 24 hours... I wonder, do you understand where you are? Do you understand that you're not getting closer to the World Series? Do you understand what just happened to you guys?... They're dismissing the loss, what it means, and the failure that they've had."
Mike Harmon: "Yeah, but what are they gonna do? Are they just gonna sit and cry about it? How much fire and vitriol do you want?... It's like anything -- if you have a bad week you have a bad week! It was a bad couple of games. They're not gonna cry into a microphone! Of course they're upset -- they just aren't making a show of it. [That doesn't mean it's time to give up on this version of the team]."
