Once all the ticker tape falls, and we get to work on this Monday morning, what do we have left but to look ahead to next season?
Okay, maybe that's a little gloomy, but seriously...unless you're Eagles fan celebrating, or a Patriots fans drying your eyes on your 5 Super Bowl titles, what can we do?
There are 3 possibilites to what this Super Bowl result means that we're highlighting here:
- The end of the Patriots dynasty. Could happen, Brady is getting up there in years, Belichick is letting all of his assistants take other jobs, and all good things must come to an end. You can certainly see how a devastating/exhausting loss like that one can take a lot out of a team, especially when they're already long in the tooth.
- The start of the Eagles dynasty. Not likely, dynasties are not easy to string together, but they do have the necessary pieces. They just won the Super Bowl without their best player, Carson Wentz, who by the way - is only 25 years old.
- Or are the two options listed above just knee jerk over-reactions? Does this loss mean nothing at all for New England? Is it just more fuel and motivation for them to get back to the Super Bowl yet again come next season?
