Since 2001, the Florida Gators head coaching job has been like 7-Eleven, it's always open. Yet it still remains one of the top jobs in the country, or so we think. That theory will be put to the test once again as the Gators are in search for their 5th head coach since '01.
Jim McElwain upon his hire back in 2015 could not have been (then AD) Jeremy Foley's first choice, possibly not even 2 or 3. So, maybe our perception of the gig is wrong...or maybe Foley was trying to get cute with his final hire as an athletics director.
It'll be interesting to see where the new AD, Scott Stricklin, will go with this move. Safe to say, this could very well be the biggest hire he makes in his entire career. Of course, the quality of that hire probably depends on the question below.
