Is Anquan Boldin Hall of Fame Worthy?

Anquan Boldin celebrates the Ravens winning the Super Bowl

Looking at things from CV’s POV ...

We may or may not have seen the last of Anquan Boldin after he announced his retirement earlier this week just 13 days into his tenure with the Buffalo Bills.

Question: Isn’t that about 12 days too long for anyone to spend in Buffalo?

Now comes the fun part. Is Boldin a Hall of Fame player?

When you hear the name Anquan Boldin, you most certainly think of a talented wide receiver with excellent hands who is very tough to cover. He also only missed 22 games in 14 seasons and in one of those seasons, he broke his face. Literally.

But taking a close look at his numbers and the amount of talent at his position, it is tough to make a case for the former Cardinal, Raven, 49er, and Lion to be enshrined in Canton.

Then again, Kurt Warner didn’t exactly have the greatest of careers and he was able to make it so there is a chance for Boldin -- however small it may be. Maybe Boldin takes Warner’s route of going on television and being the lovable guy whose name everybody knows. That will bolster his chances as well as his off-field record.

He was never in trouble, always helped in the community and won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2015.

He is the kind of guy you want to see in the Hall of Fame but the harsh reality is that not everyone makes it and I don’t think he has done enough on the field to make it.

He does, however, get a consolation prize:

He never, ever has to spend another day in Buffalo.
