It is far too early to question if passing on Chet Holmgren will be a decision the Magic end up regretting, as we're still yet to see Paolo Banchero make his Summer League debut (10pm vs Rockets on July 7th.) However, Chet Holmgren couldn't have had a better debut (23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 blocks.)
He did look like the unicorn that a number of folks have predicted. Holmgren knocked down threes (4-6), fall-away jumpers, ran the floor smoothly, and blocked shots. It should be said that the Utah Jazz did not quite have guys who could match up with Holmgren but you can't take anything away from what he did.
It's easy to see why the hype train might get started right away but we'll continue to see how this plays out.
