Kravitz's Top 5 Rookies Who Should Be Drafted First in Fantasy Football

With the NFL Draft in the books, one of the first things that I look at, one of the first things I think about is how much of an impact I expect these players to make in fantasy now that they’ve landed on an NFL team. Sometimes you love a player and hate the fit, sometimes you’re iffy on a player but love the fit. All kinds of factors at play, but my top 5 this week, is: The Top 5 Rookies Who Should Be Drafted First in Fantasy Football.

5- James Cook- I’m seeing Cook ranked around 10th in the consensus rookie rankings. I think that’s a mistake. We made the same mistake when Alvin Kamara was drafted and we dismissed his value because of a crowded situation. When you combine talent + great offense, its usually a recipe for explosion, so I think he should be targeted rather quickly.

4- Christian Watson- Give me Aaron Rodgers #1 WR all day. He’s by far the most talented receiver they have on the roster, we just need Rodgers to trust Watson, and that’ll be the tough part. No rookie receiver has ever eclipsed the 40 catch mark with Rodgers as his QB.

3- Garrett Wilson- Talent meets opportunity. He quickly becomes the #1 receiver on a team that will be chasing points frequently, and he’s got the ability to break off big plays at a moments notice, so a big game for Wilson will be just a play away every time he touches the ball.

2- Treylon Burks- Just look @ what the Titans did. They told you what they thought of Burks by the moves they made, and actions speak loudly. Burks will step into that AJ Brown role alongside Robert Woods, so he won’t be shadowed. I like the fit. It’s a run heavy offense, but their receiver targets are usually concentrated to just 2 guys, I expect he’ll be one of them.

Number 1!- Breece Hall- No need to overcomplicate this one, he’s the #1 RB off the board in the draft, a complete profile as a runner coming into the league, I assume he’ll take a majority of the work away from Michael Carter, and he’ll be the primary back sooner rather than later this season.

A lot of big names left off here- Really tough to leave Kenneth Walker off, Drake London, Chris Olave, Sky Moore, George Pickens.

It is going to be a DEEP class of rookies, so if you’re like me and you like taking stabs @ the young guns in drafts, there’s plenty to choose from, and very little really separates these guys. This is where I have it now, but this could change by the time the preseason gets underway.
