Kravitz's Top 5 'Batman & Robin' Combos in the NBA Playoffs

First! A movie review...

Things I like- Pattinson as Batman was good, I like the murder mystery angle to the movie- kind of a who dunnit feel at times, and Zoey Kravitz as catwoman was pretty spot on.

Things I didn’t like- Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, not good. Not "comicky" enough with the villians for my taste. Hard to follow at times. Same old story with the slain parents. Been there, seen that.

Rock solid B-.

Onto the rankings!

(To be clear: my rankings are not based on overall talent level but rather, the impact these tandems are having right now on their series, and the impact I expect them to have…this isn’t an NBA Jam situation)

5- Giannis & Middelton- This is where last year does still carry some cache, but even so, Giannis is the most dominant force in basketball and Middelton is there to grab a timely bucket when they need it most. It’s the perfect Batmobile/side-car combo, and I’m sure they’ll have some high spots throughout these playoffs. (Middelton only scored 11 to Giannis’ 27 on Sunday)

4- Embiid & Maxey- Is Maxey the Batman in this situation? I’m not sure anymore. But move over James Harden, you’re like Alfred at this point. Maxey has outscored Harden 61 to 36 in this series. But Embiid is the straw that stirs the drink. This pair has been lethal to say the least.

3- KD & Kyrie- I know they lost game 1 in Boston but we know what KD can do, and Kyrie was incredible. 39 points, 6 of 10 from 3, knocked down all 9 of his FT attempts despite getting heckled by fans. This series is great, the Celtics aren’t a slouch by any means, but this is the one of the most dominant pair of finishers we’ve ever seen in basketball.

2- CP3 & Devin Booker- Clutch bucket getters. That’s what these 2 are. Devin Booker is one of the most efficient long range shooters in the league, he’s an uber competitior, and the perfect Robin to Chris Paul’s Batman. The 2 work wonderfully off one another, its poetry in motion. They scored a combined 55 points in game 1 against the Pelicans, most of which came in the 2nd half.

Number 1!- Curry & Poole- Move over Klay, the Batman of the Splash Bros has a new Robin! Jordan Poole has been electric in this series, 29 & 30 points, shooting 65% from the field, 60% from 3. Steph, meanwhile, put up 34 points in 23 minutes played, that’s well over a point per minute.

Obviously a lot of great combos left off, it’s a top 5, this is going to happen. Some that were tough to leave off- ANT Man and KAT, Butler/Duncan Robinson, Tatum/Brown, Demar/Lavine, Brandon Ingram/CJ McCollum.

I think part of the thought process with the Celtics and the Heat specifically is just that they are such a total team effort with those rosters. It seems like more of a Justice League/Avengers situation than Batman and Robin.
