The draft is just phase 1, real fantasy champions dominate the waiver wire all season long, and navigating what is real and what isn't is no easy task. Fret not fantasy owners, that's what I'm here for! Now, every website on the internet that talks fantasy football has an ADD list, but I'm going to give you what you really need: A DON'T-ADD list. Plus, a buy-low and sell high candidate. Enjoy and keep on winning...
DON'T ADD:
Jon Hilliman RB NY Giants: Wayne Gallman left Sunday's game with a concussion and the lead back to take his place was Mr. Hilliman. Also the man who is set to start if Gallman can't go on Thursday vs NE. However, this isn't any reason to get excited, Hilliman rushed for just 20 yards on 9 carries (2.2) per carry and the Patriots are the 3rd best team against the rush so far this season. Don't expect fireworks...or sparklers for that matter.
Gardner Minshew QB Jags: The Mania is alive and well, even with a loss to McCaffrey...I mean, the Panthers. The Jags QB has 3 consecutive games now with 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Plus, in this last game, he threw for over 370 yards...a lot to be excited about there. Except for the fact that the Jags draw the Saints this week and they have been stellar against the pass. So much so, Mike Evans, one of the leagues best WR's essentially went missing on Sunday. The last 2 QB's they've faced have averaged just 213 yards passing. Stay away for this week.
Byron Pringle WR Chiefs: I get it, believe me. I want as many shares of this KC offense as you do. But, there has to be a limit to how many of these guys can be fantasy relevant. His 6 catch 103 yard (TD) performance was impressive. But again, if we're being realistic, he's still behind the following names on the Mahomes pecking order: Hardman, Robinson, Kelce, Williams, and Williams. Plus, Tyreek Hill is expected back any week now. No Pringle, find another CHIP off the block...yeah I did.
