Which Team is the Best Option for Joe Maddon?

Joe Maddon is nothing less than the hottest free agent manager right now. In fact shortly after the Cubs announced his firing, two teams ditched their managers, probably in hope of picking up the eventual hall of famer. It's a three team race at the moment (that could easily change) between the Padres, the Angels, and the Mets. Here's who fits the best.

3. The New York Mets

The Mets are, well, the Mets. They are a confusing team that always seem to be close to the wild card at the end of the season. Maybe adding a Joe Maddon could turn the tide for the Mets? Or would the constant negativity of the Yankees little brother wouldn't fit for Maddon.

2. The LA Angels

The Angels have the most exciting player in baseball in Mike Trout, but other than that, they don't have much. Their farm system is atrocious and their assets are too expensive to net back a good return of prospects. The Angels have ties to Joe Maddon who was at one time their interim manager. Maybe he still has some love for the City of Angels (pun intended).

1. The San Diego Padres

The Padres are the team that could use Joe Maddon the best. They have tons of young talent that are and will continue to be cheap for a number of years. Add on top of that to what Shot Doctor calls, "The best farm system in the league." You have a recipe for what could be a very successful Joe Maddon run.

Also the weather is way nicer there.
