During the Philadelphia Union vs D.C. United game, almost immediately upon starting the game, Union captain Alejandro Bedoya scored a goal. His celebration was different than most soccer celebrations.
Bedoya ran over to a TV microphone and yelled into it, "Hey Congress, do something now. End gun violence. Let's go!"
Shortly after the shooting in El Paso, Bedoya took to Twitter to air his frustrations.
His actions are not being punished by MLS. They came out with a statement saying, "The Major League Soccer family joins everyone grieving for the loss of lives in Texas and Ohio, and we understand that our players and staff have strong and passionate views on the issue."
