Five Star Recruit RJ Hampton to Forgo College Basketball

RJ Hampton is a five star recruit from Texas that every college in the nation wanted. He will be going to none of them. It's not for his grades, it's not for a crime, it's because he wants to play professionally. RJ Hampton told ESPN that he is officially going overseas to play for the New Zealand Breakers instead of playing college basketball. Hampton will sign a 2 year deal with the Breakers for an undisclosed amount, but it has been said it will be well over the $100,000 average.

This has come after many professional basketball stars have come out against college basketball and the one-and-done rule. They say that it is just a hoop to jump through that does not benefit the players at all. It only lines the pockets of colleges and the NCAA.

Is this the turning point in college athletics? Will we see the downfall of college basketball and the one-and-done rule if more players go the overseas route? Let us know on Twitter and Instagram.
