TFue Sues FaZe Clan - How This Could Impact Esports Contracts

First thing's first, if you are here to say Esports doesn't make sense and shake your fist in the air at these damn kids, here's a video of the Shot Doctor doing just that.

Now that that's out of the way. TFue is a Twitch streamer and YouTuber who has one of the fastest growing channels on either platform. He gained this popularity while playing with a group called the FaZe Clan. Basically, the FaZe Clan is a group of gamers that operate under the same title. The lawsuit is claiming that FaZe is operating as if it were a talent agency even though it does not commit to being that.

TFue is claiming that FaZe Clan has taken 80% of his winnings and earnings which is in the upwards of the multi-million dollar range. FaZe has come out against this with this tweet:

This could be a massive impact on all Esports contracts moving forward because this could open up the floodgates that we see in major sports leagues. MLB, NFL, NBA all have Players Associations doing the talking for them and depending on which way this lawsuit goes, the same could happen for Esport competitors.

For an even more in depth look, Phil DeFranco put out a video that explains the whole situation.
