Former Virginia Tech and NFL QB, Michael Vick has been officially hired as the new Head Football Coach at Norfolk State University and Dan Patrick can easily understand why they would hire a guy with little to no coaching experience for the job. Vick is still a local celebrity in the area and his association with the school will likely be a huge recruiting boost for such a small school, not to mention they will get some significant national exposure with him at the helm.
Dan Patrick: “I get it. In that area Mike (is) still a big name and having name recognition for a school, small school, get a chance to maybe some players in that maybe you wouldn’t be able to recruit...OK.”
