Rays Fall To Royals For Fifth Straight Loss

The Kansas City Royals (33-19) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (25-27) 8-1 on Friday night at Tropicana Field. For the Rays, it was their fifth straight loss.

The Rays got a run in the first inning after Jonathan Aranda grounded into a force out, and that would be the only run the Rays would get on the night. The Royals would got two in the fourth, three in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh to build a 8-1 lead en route to the win.

The Rays look to snap their skid when they meet the Royals in the middle game of the three-game series on Saturday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting the Inside Pitch at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620 your Home of Rays Baseball.
