Rays Rally To Even Series With Rockies

The Tampa Bay Rays (4-5) defeated the Colorado Rockies (2-7) 8-6 on Saturday night in Denver. The win evens the three game series at one game apiece after Colorado won their home opener on Friday night.

The Rays got a run in the first, but the Rockies had a huge answer, building a 6-1 lead going into the seventh inning. Tampa Bay got two in the seventh thanks to a two-run double from Ben Rortvedt before flipping the game in the eighth inning. Tampa Bay put five runs together in the eighth inning to take an 8-6 lead that would prove to be the difference.

The Rays will now look to win the series against the Rockies when the two teams meet in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 3:10 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage with This Week In Rays Baseball at 1:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
