Why is Paolo Banchero not in the 'Face of the NBA' Conversation?

On the most latest episode of 'The Big Podcast with Shaquille O'Neal, Shaq exlcuded Paolo Banchero from the list of guys primed for a jump to the face of the NBA. Shaq Brought up names such as Tyrese Halliburton, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Victor Wembanyama - with a mention to Anthony Edwards. Stephen Curry was asked a similar question at All Star Weekend in Indianapolis back in February and gave a very similar answer. Once again, no Paolo.

So why is Paolo not on this list? I break it down to two very simple things.

1) Experience

A reminder for everyone stretching to as local as central Florida, to the NBA community in Europe, Paolo Banchero is in year two. We have seen such growth from Paolo in year one to year two and he will continue on that upward trajectory. Look at the other players that Shaq and Steph referenced:

Luka - Year 6

SGA - Year 5

Tyrese - Year 4

Ant - Year 4

These didn't rise to the top of the league in just two years. Give it time, and Paolo will be in the conversation if he continues to take these strides.

2) You have to be exceptional at something

SGA - This season: No. 2 in PPG, No. 1 in steals. has led the OKC Thunder to one of the best records in the Western Conference.

Ant - In year 4, he is taking 2.5 more 3-pointers per game, leading to more exciting baskets. Plus, he is athletic as they come and throws down a highlight reel dunk ever night. These things matter when it comes to 'The Face' conversation.

Luka - One of the most skilled offensive players in the league, and is so unique with how unique he is. Unorthodox. Not aesthetically pleasing. Luka (along with Jokic) is bringing back the Larry Bird effect.
