TAMPA -- The father of one of the two people killed during a mass shooting last October expressed his disappointment that Tampa City Council failed to enact a curfew Thursday.
Karel Boonstoppel says a teen curfew would have kept his 20-year-old son Harrison Boonstoppel alive, as a 14-year-old boy is suspected of firing the shot that killed him October 29.
Boonstoppel told a Zoom forum held by Florida Democrats that a curfew would have "immediate effect" on teens out after hours with stolen guns.
Tampa City Council tabled a curfew for those under 16 after opposition at a community forum earlier this month.
