After the tragic injury to Edwin Diaz, which happened after celebrating an elimination matchup win over Dominican Republic, Mets fans are up in arms about losing their big time Closer in the World Baseball Classic.
This was a freak accident and it was very tough to see happen, no matter who you root for. But I do disregard the notion of this event being meaningless..it means everything to cultures outside of the continental United States which makes me love the event all the more and I think it's beautiful for the game of baseball. Injuries can happen anywhere, time, or place.
