The Rose Bowl could have single-handedly been the reason the College Football Playoff did not expand before 2026.
Their arrogance may have blocked expansion since they had a contract in place through the end of the current contract.
But it could've come at a price where the College Football Playoff tells the Rose Bowl to pound sand when the 12-team playoff does happen.
