In some ways it could feel like a "lame duck" season for UCF considering this is the final year in the AAC before they move on to a Power 5 conference in the Big 12. However, I argue that it is very important to enter a bigger conference with good momentum in terms of the program Gus Malzahn is trying to build and staying in the minds of potential recruits (as well as that transfer portal.)
