Week 4: Top 20 QB Ranking and Last Minute Waiver Adds in Fantasy Football

Top 20 QB’s:

1.Josh Allen vs Houston- Allen finally had a blow up game vs Washington last week. 358 through the air and 5 total TD’s, look for him to keep it rolling.

2.Patrick Mahomes @ Philly- Backs against the wall, he needs to be Superman in this game, and he likely will be. Prescott showed last week how to expose this Philly defense.

3.Tom Brady @ New England- You’ll be hard pressed to find a more motivated QB this week…or ever. Brady already has 1k yards (2nd) on the season and 11 touchdowns (1st).

4.Kyler Murray @ LAR- Tough defense but Murray likely bounces back after a modest 20 point outing.

5.Matt Stafford vs AZ- If this game turns into a shootout, Matt Stafford is more than prepared for that. 29pts vs Tampa’s tough pass rush last week. Stafford seems to like the friendly confines of SoFi Stadium. (9 TD’s only 1 pick this year, while enabling WR1 from Kupp).

6.Justin Herbert vs LV- Monday Night Football in LA against a Raiders team that is #1 offensively right now but middle of the pack in defensive statistics. Herbert broke out last week with 30pts, look for him to keep it rolling.

7.Aaron Rodgers vs Steelers- The Steelers defense is for real, especially with TJ Watt back but A-Rod is a different QB @ Lambeau. 4 touchdowns / no picks @ home this season.

8.Dak Prescott vs Carolina- Dak has been terrific this year and should still be started, just with less confidence than the guys above him on this list. Carolina is ranked #1 in the NFL defensively and even though they’re banged up, they should ugly up this game.

9.Derek Carr @ LAC- Carr hasn’t had a bad game yet, I’ll keep riding him till he does. Carr is #1 in the league with 1,203 passing yards.

10.Kirk Cousins vs CLE- Both Cleveland and Minnesota feel like they should be defensive teams, and they have their moments, but both are giving up nearly 29ppg. This could be a low key shootout and Cousins has been playing lights out. Right now, Cousins is averaging the 4th most fantasy points among QB’s.

11.Russell Wilson @ SF- The 49ers secondary is all banged up, look for a rainbow TD or 2 today from Russ as he gets cooking by the Bay.

12.Lamar Jackson @ Denver- Not excited about this matchup today but he’s still Lamar Jackson. 18 points was his worst outing this year thus far. Even in a bad game he can put up stats. Jackson popped up on the injury report with a back injury this week. Something to keep an eye on.

13.Jalen Hurts vs KC- I’d suspect a shootout or comeback is in order to beat the Chiefs. We’ll see if Hurts can bounce back after his worst game of the year vs Dallas.

14.Ryan Tannehill @ Jets- I mean even without AJ Brown and Julio, he’s still playing the Jets.

15.Jimmy G vs Seattle- The Seahawks rank dead last in total yards allowed. If Trey Lance doesn’t vulture his TD’s, this should be a good game for Jimmy.

16.Sam Darnold @ Dallas- No CMC, they’ll need to throw to DJ, Robby, and Terrace a little more.

17.Taylor Heinicke @ ATL- 23 fantasy points in each start thus far and Atlanta’s defense shouldn’t do much to deter him from that total again.

18.Teddy Bridgewater vs Baltimore- Teddy’s been airing it out this year and while this matchup will be his toughest of the season (Giants, Jets, and Jags), this isn’t the 2000 Ravens we’re talking about.

19.Jameis Winston vs NYG- Jameis just hasn’t been all that appealing in fantasy this year. Just 21 points in his last 2 games combined.

20.Mac Jones vs Bucs- He’s in a spot where he’ll have to throw to keep up with Brady and lucky him, the Bucs secondary is their Achilles heel right now.

Last Minute Waiver Adds:

QB- Mac Jones and Taylor Heinicke (reasons listed above)

RB- Kenneth Gainwell of the Philadelphia Eagles is someone to look @, he’s quietly outperforming the underperforming Miles Sanders on a per snap basis, clearly being used as the team’s primary back-up, and Miles was only given 2 carries on Monday Night Football.

RB- With James White on the shelf for the year, the Patriots have a hole to fill at RB. JJ Taylor, Brandon Bolden, or Rhamondre Stevenson will be the next man up. Who gets all the work? I mean, c’mon, it’s Bill Belichick we’re talking about. The coaches were praising Stevenson after practice this week, for whatever its worth.

RB- Le'veon Bell has been activated by the Ravens, do whatever you wish with that info.

RB- Handcuff szn. Tony Jones for Kamara / Larry Roundtree for Ekeler. Don’t get caught without one like the McCaffrey manager.

WR- Allen Lazard might be worth a look now that MVS is on the shelf for a few weeks, he was a standout the last time Adams missed time.

WR- Terrace Marshall- If he is still available in your leagues get him NOW. Darnold has been favoring him above all his WR’s on 3rd downs which is a sign of trust and great things to come.

TE- Dawson Knox / Tyler Conklin- Both guys got into the end-zone last week and their QB’s are en fuego. If you need a TE, you can definitely do worse. Also, I suppose Cameron Brate has potential with Gronk on the shelf.

DST- Dolphins- Currently the 20th ranked defense in fantasy, I know that doesn’t sound all that appealing but consider this – they get Carson Wentz, both of his sprained ankles, an injured offensive line, and zero receivers that scare you. Count on a couple of turnovers from the Dolphins DST. (Also, the Falcons play the Jets next week if you needed a look ahead)
