Well this Thursday Night Football matchup should be a fun one. The 0-2 Dolphins travel up to Jacksonville to take on the 1-1 Jaguars but that's not what people are talking about.
It's the QB matchup. But it's not the QB matchup on the field that they're talking about. It's the facial hair.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is well known for his beard. Gardner Minshew is well known for his mustache.
Fitzpatrick (obviously) explained why he believes the beard is cooler, "I think the beard is a cooler look and I think guys that grow mustaches, a lot of times have patchy sides for their beards, so they just stick with the mustache."
Of course, Minshew had to offer a rebuttal and defend 'stache's everywhere.
"I can grow a beard with no patchy sides but you know I'm going to have respect for my elders especially when they are... much... much... elder"
In terms of the "much, much elder" comment, Fitzpatrick (37) is 13 years older than Minshew (24). Fitzy made his NFL debut in 2005 when Minshew was just 9 years old.
As for this season, age is proving to be just a number as the 37-year old is still looking for his first win while the 24-year old has surprised everyone through his first two starts and has his team currently sitting at 1-1.
What say you? Are you a beard or a mustache person?
