When Will the Washington Redskins Change Their Nickname?

The Redskins have been called the Redskins since their second season in 1933 when the moved from Braves Field to Fenway Park to play their games. The name has stuck for 87 years but in today's climate, the name change might be coming soon.

During all of the protests, where the Redskins were trying to stand in support, many didn't want that support from a team name they deemed racist.

And now they have removed the name of their previous owner George Preston Marshall from their Ring of Honor after his statue was removed by the team. He will also be scrubbed from the History Wall outside the stadium. Marshall was a known segregationist and was the last NFL owner to integrate his team.

Are they starting the process of scrubbing history and changing their name? Only time will tell.
