That interview on CNN Tonight started a very fast and radical change for NASCAR. They have gone from a league with a racist pockmarked past into one of the front runners of social change. Thanks to the lone black driver, Bubba Wallace, the Confederate flag has been banned from all NASCAR tracks and other drivers have been taking stands with Wallace after some fans and people connected to the sport have disagreed with the ban.
The first person within the sport to speak out against the ban was truck driver Ray Ciccarelli who is leaving the series because of the ban. Beam Designs is a company that has done designs for a number of NASCAR drivers' helmets and they have been losing big clients like Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Blaney after being called out for inappropriate tweets by Bubba Wallace.
