LIST: Top 5 Most Likely Landing Spots for Andy Dalton

After 9 years with the franchise, Andy Dalton is no longer a Bengal. We've already seen rumors that the Jags/Patriots are interested, but who else makes sense?

I’ll go 1 through 5, starting with the top options, because they’re obvious:

1.Patriots: They have Jarrett Stidham locked in as their starter right now, you’ve got to give him some competition. I think the Pats can compete for a wild card this year, at least Dalton has taken a team to the playoffs.

2.Jags: Gardner Minshew doesn’t have a legitimate back up, the #2 on their roster is Jake Luton, who they took in the 6th round this year. Plus, Jay Gruden is now calling plays in Jax…former coach of Andy Dalton.

3.Cowboys: This is a team that is primed and ready to go for the gold and with other teams in their division investing in the back up QB position, the Boys should too. You’d hate to have your season derailed by a Dak injury, and Dalton feels like the kind of QB that does a lot of this stylistically the way Dak does.

4.Vikings: Same can be said for them in regards to going for it all this year, plus Kirk Cousins/Andy Dalton…kind of cut from the same cloth wouldn’t you say? Also there’s the Mike Zimmer connection, he used to coach the defense in Cincy.

5.Broncos: John Elway’s always good to take a flier on a bad QB. Look, I like Drew Lock, but there’s no guarantee that he can back up what he did on his short 5-game sample size. If he can’t live up to the billing, you’d hate for all those new weapons to go to waste. Their back up right now: Jeff Driskel.
