Alex Ovechkin is the closest active NHL player to surpassing any of the great Wayne Gretzky's records. He's been compared to Gretzky in the past but now he got the chance to beat him at his own game.
The two hockey greats battled it out all for charity in what was called "The Great One vs The Great Eight Showcase" and it came down to a goal late to send it to OT.
But that celebration was short lived as Gretzky came back to win the first game.
