A $300 Million Pitcher is Close Says @spotrac

Detroit Tigers v Houston Astros

Earlier this week, the Nationals signed pitcher Stephen Strasburg to a 7-year deal worth $245 million. Now, free agent Gerrit Cole is waiting for his new contract which is now going to be well north of the $245 million that Strasburg just signed for.

Mike Ginnitti explains that if the 'big boys' are all in, Cole's contract could be pushing $300 million.

Gerrit Cole isn't the only player who is affected by Strasburg's contract. His teammate (or soon-to-be former teammate) Anthony Rendon is a free agent and likely will not be back with the Nationals.

You can listen to Mike Ginnitti break it all down in the interview below.
