Thought-Provoking Daily Poll: What is Your Takeaway From the Season Opener?

The 150th season of college football kicked off between the Gators and Canes at Camping World Stadium Saturday night. This was the first real football that we've seen since the Super Bowl and first real college football game since January.

The Florida Gators coming into the season had major expectations. They start the season ranked inside the Top 10 and quarterback Feleipe Franks was expected to take a step forward in his second season under Dan Mullen. Franks wasn't exactly at the top of his game, throwing two interceptions but did score the game-winning touchdown on a QB draw up the middle with less than two minutes to go in the game. The Gators did everything they could to give away the game on the final drive. On a 4th and 34 and a 3rd and 12, the Gators commit pass interference giving the Canes life. Fortunate for them, Miami could not capitalize and the Gators are now 1-0.

For the Canes, they had a bunch of inexperience on their offensive line and at quarterback and it showed. The Canes were called for 14 penalties, a majority of them being false starts and delay of games. At times quarterback Jerren Williams held the ball too long and did fumble twice, both times Miami would recover. But against that Gators defense, Williams held his own and had the Canes not missed a field goal earlier in the fourth quarter, this game could have had a completely different ending.

What was the takeaway from the season opener? Are the Gators overrated? Canes underrated? Vote on the poll below.
