STAN VAN GUNDY INTERVIEW
Stan Van Gundy is back for his weekly segment on Open Mike (every Tuesday @ 8:15am) and he was in mid-season form. SVG spoke about what it felt like getting fired from Detroit, Dwight Howard, the National Anthem, and Magic coach Steve Clifford.
Couple quotes from Stan:
When asked what it's like to get 7 million out the door: "I don't think it ever feels good when someone says they don't want you anymore"..."But I understand how lucky I am to not have to worry financially like so many other people that lose their jobs."
When asked what's next in his career: "This is different than before, I'm not sure what I want to do moving forward."
He calls Steve Clifford (Magic new head coach) a great communicator, and says "players will never have to wonder what Steve wants from them."
Stan also has a great response on how Dwight's career hasn't panned out the way anyone thought and the NBA's ability to avoid National Anthem controversy.
