The new General Manager of the Orlando Magic, Anthony Parker, made his In The Zone debut today with Brandon Kravitz. Parker was announced as the new GM on Wednesday, replacing John Hammond who has transitioned to Senior Advisor of basketball Operations for the Magic.

Parker joined the Magic organization as a scout following retiring from his professional playing career. He worked his way up the ladder one leg at a time, getting promoted to GM of the Magic G-League team - Lakeland Magic (now Osceola Magic). After running the G-League squad for four seasons, he transitioned to Assistant GM under Hammond and President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman last year.

Parker is confident that his experience within the Magic organization will lead to a smooth transition into the General Manager role.

"Jeff Weltman has done an unbelievable job of everyone having a voice. So, from that standpoint, I don't think much has changed. We all kinda did the work, we all contributed what we thought, and then it's up to Jeff to make the decision," Parker said. "And that's how it's always worked. So, from that standpoint - the role, the responsibility, the voice, hasn't really changed much." (4:39-5:03).
