A Guide to the Magic Draft

The Magic have the 16th pick in the NBA Draft and many are saying that the future of the Magic begins tonight. That being said, the Magic are in a unique position. Currently they don't have that superstar that teams need with Vooch becoming a free agent, but they have someone in Mo Bamba to replace him on the team. What the Magic need is someone who can score, but being in the teens might leave Orlando with a bunch of forwards as the best players available. Here are five guys that will be there at 16 for the Magic to pick.

1. Romeo Langford Indiana SF

He's a good 6'6" with a 6'11" wingspan who can play the wing well. He struggled at times from three point land with a 27% shot percentage. He could quickly develop into a three point danger. He has skills that make him an all around good player that would escalate into an all around great player.

2. Tyler Herro Kentucky SG

Herro is 6'6" and is a scorer. He can shoot the three and also put the ball on the floor and make his own shots. He is a fierce competitor who is not afraid to go after anyone in tight games. Where Herro struggles is on the defensive side. His competitive spirit can only take him so far. He has the chance to do some great things in the NBA.

3. Nickeil Alexander-Walker Virginia Tech SG

Alexander-Walker is a big guy, perfect for the wing. 6'6" 204lbs makes him a sturdy place for the Magic to look. He is a great catch-and-shooter but when he's the primary guy, he's struggled to beat defenders. He could be a nice side piece for a free agent the Magic pick up.

4. PJ Washington Kentucky PF

PJ Washington is a power forward that might be the best available player at the 16th pick. He's only 6'8" and 230lbs but he has an incredible wingspan. He turned into a good scorer for Kentucky and his defense was very good. He struggles with passing and the Magic are heavy on forwards, but if he's the best player, the Magic might take him at No. 16.

5. Keldon Johnson Kentucky SF

Keldon Johnson is a bit rough but has major upside. He can score and is aggressive but he is streaky. When he's on, he's on, but he can cool off quick. His defense is the same, he's aggressive and plays hard but his instincts are a bit lacking. He has shown many signs of improvement which is why with a great coach like Steve Clifford, the Magic could take a chance on him and turn him into something great.
