The Texas Rangers (70-71) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (83-57) 6-0 on Thursday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington. It was the second straight loss for Tampa Bay, who also lost their series finale to the Mets on Wednesday night.
Cal Quantrill (7-5, 2.79) pitched seven shutout innings in which he allowed just two hits while striking out five and walking two. He got the win while Shane McClanahan (10-7. 3.36) took the loss - the Rays starter allowed four earned runs on six hits while striking out three and walking one.
