The Montreal Canadiens beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 in overtime on Friday night to win game three of the first round playoff series. With the win, the Lightning now trails Montreal 2-1 on in Best-of-Seven Stanley Cup playoff series.
The Lightning got a goal from Brayden Point in the first period to tie the game 1-1, and from Brandon Hagel in the second period to take a 2-1 lead. Kirby Dach scored for Montreal in the second period to tie the game 2-2, which would remain the score through regulation. At the 2:09 mark of overtime, Late Hutson scored what would prove to be the game winner for the Canadiens.
The Lightning will look to bounce back and tie the best-of-seven series at two games apiece when the two teams meet in game four on Friday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Canadiens is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Sunday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
