Astros Rout Rays In Series Opener

The Houston Astros (63-55) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (59-59) 6-1 on Monday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays are once again at the .500 mark of the season after the loss.

The Astros got to Rays starter Taj Bradley (6-7, 3.49) for six earned runs on eight hits in just four and one-third innings of work in which he struck out six and walked two. The only offense for Tampa Bay came from a sacrifice fly from Jose Caballero in the third inning.

The Rays look to bounce back when they meet the Astros in the second game of the three-game series on Tuesday night. First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
