The Baltimore Orioles (43-22) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (31-35) 5-2 on Monday night at Tropicana Field. The win gave the Orioles a four-game sweep of the Rays.
Gunnar Henderson homered on the first pitch of the game to give Baltimore an early lead. Alex Jackson hit a two-run homer in the second that gave the Rays a 2-1 lead, their first lead of the series. The Orioles answered with one in the third to tie the game, before getting two in the fifth and one in the seventh to take control.
Ryan Pepiot (4-3, 4.17) took the loss allowing four earned runs on nine hits in six innings of work in which he struck out nine and walked none.
The Rays remain at home and will play the Chicago Cubs in a three-game interleague series beginning on Tuesday night.
