The other day I tee'd up my favorite fantasy value buys on draft day. But on the flip side of that equation, there are just some players that you have to be willing to reach on a little if you want them on your squad. These are my favorites players to draft slightly ahead of their ADP's.
Non-values that I’m willing to reach on:
·Jahmyr Gibbs- such a believer in his talent. Lions 3rd ranked offense in the NFL last year. They’ll line him up at WR.
·Patrick Mahomes- I’ve come around on the idea that I just want him on my team, I’m tired of not having Patrick Mahomes. You know what you are getting, the upside is massive, and you never have to worry about QB. Last pick of round 1, early round 2.
·Jaylen Waddle- #2 in the offense but puts up #’s like a #1 WR. He had more receiving yards last year than Terry McLaurin, Mike Evans, DK Metcalf, Garrett Wilson, Amari Cooper, Ja’Mar Chase…all #1’s on their team.
·Christian Watson- I am a sucker for TD’s and big plays and that’s exactly what you get with him. From week’s 7 to 10 last year, he flashed what he could do – 7 total TD’s, averaged 90 yards per game and over 6 catches. That was as the #2…now he’s the guy in GB.
·Justin Fields- Ridiculous rushing upside, major cheat code in fantasy. Should be a better passer, that helps. He has the 5th shortest odds to win offensive player of the year – behind only Ja’Marr, JJ, CMC, and Nick Chubb.
·DeAndre Swift- I don’t understand the discount on him. He is a far superior player to Rashaad Penny…Penny always gets hurt and he’s running behind the best o-line in football. He’s being drafted after Rachaad White and James Conner. No way.
·Alexander Mattison- We loved him when he was a handcuff to Dalvin. Now he’s the starter and people don’t seem excited. I don’t get it.
·Darren Waller- Pay attention to how Brian Daboll uses his TE’s, he made Danny Bellinger fantasy relevant.
