Kravitz's Top 5 QB Performances of Preseason Week 1

Time for my Tuesday rankings, and no reason to over think this one. I watched most of the 16 preseason games that were on this weekend, I’ve got my preseason notepad right here. Let’s do this thing.

Top 5 QB Performances of Preseason Week 1!

5- Skylar Thompson, Phins- Thompson was illusive, great decision making, and you have to think in watching him…if Mike McDaniel can do that with Thompson, imagine what he can do with Tua. 20/28 that’s 71% comp rate. 218 yards, 1 touchdown, and he was the 2nd leading rusher in the game.

4- Jalen Hurts, Eagles- This list is mostly reserved for the reserves, the guys who actually play an extended period of time, but Hurts was sooo good in his 2022 debut I had to give he a shoutout here. 1 drive, 6/6, 80 yards, laid out on a tackle out of bounds, pops right up. Then, he runs in a score. The refs call it back, next play, passing TD. Absolute perfection.

3- Desmond Ridder, Falcons- He was my favorite QB in this year’s group and his performance against the Lions only backed that up. He connected on 10/22, 103 yards, 2 scores and 59 yards rushing. But just the look of it more than anything, I truly couldn’t tell the difference between Ridder and Mariota. Big difference though- Mariota’s been in the league since 2015.

2- Kenny Pickett, Steelers- Preseason or no preseason, his performance was one to remember for him and for Steelers fans. A Pitt guy, who played his college ball in the same stadium where he’s going to play his NFL ball…and he delivered. He played most of the 2nd half. 13/15 95 yards, 2 TD’s. But most impressively, he lead his team on a game winning drive. 5 play 43 yard drive, capped off with a winning touchdown with 3 seconds on the clock. Awesome.

Number 1!- Bryce Perkins, Rams- If Bryce were a 1st round pick, we’d be losing our minds over how good he looked. Eye test grade A+. He was illusive, made throws in and out of the pocket, strong arm. He was the most electric player I watched this weekend, period. 133 passing yards, 3 total touchdowns, 39 yards rushing.
