During the height of the New England Patriots dynasty, the question was often asked who is more valuable: Tom Brady or Bill Belichick? I always thought it was an even split, the QB needs the coach and the coach needs the QB.
However, Tom Brady went down to Tampa and won a Superbowl immediately with a brand new coach and a brand new (improved) roster while the Pats have struggled. New England was mediocre last year and so far this year they have not shown to be a dynamic football team of any sort. Obviously it was going to be tough for the Patriots to continue their ways after someone of Brady's magnitude departs, not to mention guys like Julian Edelman retiring. I get it, the Patriots are in a rebuild with a rookie quarterback, but as someone who thinks of Bill Belichick as the best Head Coach of all time, I do think this has effected his legacy.
