The Diminishing Number of Hall of Fame Caliber Running Backs

How many active Running Backs can you name right now that are worthy Hall of Fame candidates? Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry feel like pretty good bets but even CMC has to prove he can stay healthy. Outside of them, one could make a potential case for Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Nick Chubb. But the point is, we are seeing less and less "heavyweight" three-down-backs.

The NFL is becoming more about specialization at that position, giving one player a "between-the-tackles" role and the other being the "pass-catching running back." Saquon Barkley was drafted because of the thought that he could put on a gold jacket one day but the results have not been there to this point.

In the podcast below, Kravitz and myself discuss this concept.
