I’m going to help you now with the toughest part of you draft…the end of it. I’ve been compiling a list of names over the last couple of weeks, these are players that you should take a stab @ at the end of your drafts.
·Xavier Jones: 2nd year player out of SMU. Expected to be the backup for Darrell Henderson. Henderson has yet to complete a 16 game season and he’s only 2 years into the league. He’s also never been asked to be the feature back.
·Gerald Everett: Russell Wilson has been dying to get a TE he can actually rely on. He thought he had one in the 2 week breakout of Will Dissly years ago, then he got hurt. Greg Olsen they signed last year, but he was washed. Everett is a good player, the Rams used him quite a bit. 78 receptions in the last 2 years, and he was the #2 TE. I honestly don’t know why people aren’t more excited about him.
·Russell Gage: Think about this mathematically…Julio Jones got about 150 targets a year in the Falcons offense. He’s gone…they can’t all go to Ridley and Pitts. Gage will be the next best receiver on this team…or…and its possible this happens, Pitts gets off to a slow start, and he’s actually #2. Gage could be a lowkey monster this year.
·Marquez Callaway: There’s a good chance that by the time you draft, he won’t be a “last pick” kind of guy because he is quickly becoming the #1 in New Orleans. Michael Thomas not expected back until week 6 or 7, Trequan Smith has missed a bunch of time in practice, and Callaway has been the 1. If Jameis wins this job, this dude might just be must-start for the first couple weeks of the season.
·Malcom Brown: Brian Flores is telling you he’s using a committee approach and Brown started the game on Saturday. He was also a goal line back with the Rams, so he’ll likely get that work. Brown is worth a stab @ the end of drafts.
·Justin Fields: Just park him on your bench until Dalton gets yanked off the stage, you won’t regret it.
