Lebron James has joined the Boston Red Sox in a deal that very few could have ever imagined and nobody predicted. It sounds a little funny to say but it's true. How you ask? He's joined Red Sox ownership in a move that solidifies Lebron as one of the most influential parties in all of pro sports.
The NBA superstar has joined Fenway Sports Group, which makes him part owner in the Boston Red Sox. Boston Globe reporter Michael Silverman advises that Lebron owns an "undisclosed amount of FSG shares after previously holding an approximately two percent share of the Liverpool soccer franchise since 2011." Fenway Sports Group owns the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool Football Club, and Roush Fenway Racing.
Lebron and his business partner Maverick Carter are now the groups first black owners and give them leverage in a different sports league and most of the big boy media and sports markets!
The game has officially changed.
