Waiver Wire Week 10:
Welcome back, I missed you dearly. With Thanksgiving is right around the corner, let’s gobble up some last-minute waiver adds.
QB:
Jake Luton- Let’s be honest, you probably already have a QB on your roster that you feel comfortable starting, since the position is about 20 deep this year. But, let’s say on the off chance, you don’t. I actually like Luton this week. He proved he can sling the rock last week – 26/38 for 304 yards and a beautiful bomb of a TD. This week, he’s going to have to keep throwing if they want to win. Consider your Sunday diet, Luton-Free.
RB:
Travis Homer- This one’s pretty easy to diagnose, Chris Carson out…Carlos Hyde, out. DeeJay Dallas, unimpressive. Homer is the pass catching, 3rd down back that Wilson will likely lean on in a shootout style matchup with the Rams. Homer last week took 3 catches and turned it into 64 yards.
Kalen Ballage- His yards per carry when he was a Dolphin was a nice little punch line, but he’s apparently far better with a bolt on his helmet. I thought he looked like the best Chargers RB last week, and with Justin Jackson out, he’s not a bad add.
DeAndre Washington- Could turn into the Dolphins new feature back, stay tuned…
WR/RB/TE/Hybrid:
Cordarrelle Patterson- Kinda tricky, depends on what site your on, but on CBS he’s a WR. In reality, he’s a WR turned RB, but either way, he’s in store for some work on Monday night. Their lead back, David Montgomery is out with a concussion and Patterson is clearly the most talented player they have left in the backfield. Patterson posted 40 yards in his last outing, and is a good option if you need a flex.Ryan Nall is another name to look @ if you need an RB. He posted 4 catches and a touchdown in the Bears last game.
Taysom Hill- I don’t what he’s considered these days, but at this point, he needs to be rostered. 14 and 10 fantasy points in his last 2 games, and the Saints just continue to find a way to work him into the offense more and more. Hill is the definition of a swiss army knife, which means he can score you fantasy points in a multitude of ways. (I would not add him if his designation is QB only)
KJ Hamler- Jerry Jeudy is stealing all the rookie headlines in Denver, and for good reason, but it’s leaving Hamler to fly smooth under the radar. He was targeted 10 times last week, hauled in 6 of those, and went for 75 yards. He’s a speedster who could have a monster week any day now. Decent matchup this week vs LV.
DST:
Browns- Deshaun Watson is the 5th most sacked QB in the NFL this year and that’s with a bye week under his belt. The Browns are at home, the wind is supposed to be a factor, and they just so happen to have one of the best sack specialists in the NFL in Myles Garrett.
