Gabriel Davis made a huge impact during his time at UCF. It now appears he's already doing the same in Buffalo.
The team held a scrimmage on Thursday and with Stefon Diggs held out because of back soreness, it gave Davis more opportunity to shine and he did not disappoint.
Via Maddy Glab of BuffaloBills.com:
"From my count the rookie had six receptions, three of which went for first downs. Davis showcased his size and athleticism breaking a few tackles on some receptions. His most notable play came on a big reception where he was tightly covered and had to muscle his way around the defender to make the catch."
Earlier this week, he was asked where his confidence level was. Davis answered the question in a very humble manner, "I'm confident in everything that I can do and I'm a competitive person and just go out there everyday just like everybody else does and try to win the day."
Veteran receiver John Brown has had glowing reviews about the fourth-round pick saying that Davis already knows the playbook and has been helping out the veterans.
It will be an uphill climb for the Sanford native who joins a roster that already includes Stefon Diggs, John Brown, and Cole Beasley. The team also used a sixth-round pick on Isaiah Hodgins (who also received glowing reviews from Brown). Still, it appears that Davis is making a big impact already and could challenge early on for extended playing time.
