Chris Godwin put up monster numbers last season. The third-round pick hauled in 86 catches for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns. Through his first three years in the league, Godwin has improved across the board every single year.
He is now heading into the final year of his rookie deal and is set to make $2,133,000 according to Spotrac.com
Over the last six days, Godwin has missed three practices, though one of those days was considered a maintenance day. As for the reasoning behind the Penn St. product missing the other days of practice, head coach Bruce Arians gave a cryptic response, "That's for me to know and nobody else to find out."
Could he be hinting towards the fact that he wants a new contract? Possibly. Could he be dealing with injuries? None have been reported but that is also a possibility.
The Bucs said earlier this offseason that they want Godwin, 24, to be a Buccaneer for life.
