Social media is an unforgiving place and John Focke is feeling the brunt of it. Focke is a radio play-by-play guy for the Charlotte Hornets who is now suspended indefinitely because of the worst mistype in history. He wanted his tweet to say "Shot making in this Jazz-Nuggets game is awesome! Murray and Mitchell going back and forth what a game!”
Nuggets is not what went out. Instead of "u" he hit "i" and instead of "t"... well, you see where this is going. Focke tweeted the N-word by mistake, at least that's what he told the Charlotte Observer.
“I was trying to get it done as fast as I could,” Focke said, “so that it was relevant by the time I posted it. I tried to type it and obviously I mistyped the word ‘Nuggets.’ And I did not reread it — which, as you know, that’s rule No. 1 of working in the media. And unfortunately, I didn’t, because I was trying to get it up as fast as possible. And I hit ‘Send.’”
Many people have called out Focke for the tweet and don't believe his apology. What do you think?
