It isn't often you'll hear players admit to something like being starstruck. Still, Bucs tight end Cameron Brate was up front about it the first time he got a text from his new quarterback Tom Brady.
“The first time he texted me I had to get double confirmation...that it was actually Brady. He said, ‘Hey this is Tom. Give me a Facetime when you can.’ I had to reach out to Chris and Mike and be like, ‘Hey is this Tom?’ I didn’t want to be calling some random dude"
Brady and Brate have worked out together this offseason. The team came under scrutiny when Brady, Brate, and other Bucs players were found out to be working out at Berkley Prep.
This will be Brady's first season in Tampa after spending the previous 20 years with the New England Patriots. For Cameron Brate, he is entering his seventh season, all with the Bucs.
