VIDEO: Royals Pitchers Plunk 3 Astros Batters

There's been a fight between MLB and MLBPA for months. Not even that was enough distract opposing teams from pelting Astros hitters with pitches. 'Stros hitters were getting plunked early and often during Spring Training before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Now that baseball is on the cusp of being back and teams are playing exhibition games, the Royals let the Astros know how they feel.

Three members of the Astros got hit by pitches during Tuesday’s exhibition game with the Royals and while these didn’t seem intentional (two were done with the bases loaded) it is still going to be Twitter fodder whenever someone on the Astros gets hit by a pitch this year.

Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman got hit in back-to-back at-bats in the second inning. These came with the bases loaded so credit these to bad pitching by Kansas City:

Both of those came with the bases loaded in the second inning. Then in the fifth, George Springer was the third Astros batter to get plunked.

Earlier this year, a sports book set the over-under on how many times Astros hitters would get hit by pitches at 83.5. Of course, that is now different since there will only be 60 games played.
