JD Spielman was one of the shining spots during Nebraska's dark days. He was on pace to break the Huskers all-time receiving record in this senior season, but after spending some weeks back home in Minnesota because of "personal health issues" he will not be returning to Nebraska. Spielman has entered the transfer portal. Fans of the Cornhuskers are sad to see him leave, especially because he would've been the lone senior receiver on the team.
This has thrown coach Scott Frost into question once again early in his tenure at Nebraska. Frost's Cornhuskers have been hyped up ever since his return to Nebraska, but dealing with injuries and trying to change a culture has started off rocky for him. Can he turn it all around? Mike Bianchi isn't so sure, but Austin Pistulka (Nebraska alum) still has faith in Frost and his Huskers.
