Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant. When you think No. 88 for the Dallas Cowboys, those are the names that pop up. You can now add CeeDee Lamb to that list.
Originally, Lamb wanted to wear the No. 10 but Jerry Jones had a different idea.
From CBS Sports:
"I said in honor of my great friend who just passed this year that we're going to have his namesake come on here and wear old number 88. Just like Michael and Dez and those guys," Jones said last weekend. "And we've got us a wide receiver. And let me tell you one thing, if he's got the competes and heart of that Jerry Lamb, he'll be bad to the bone."
Lamb won't have (or shouldn't anyways) the expectations of the guys to previously wear the No. 88. He's going to be the third option at receiver with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup already on the roster and then you add Blake Jarwin and Zeke getting the ball out of the back field, it will be unfair to expect the production of the previous 88s.
You can also probably assume that this puts an end to any Dez-Cowboys reunion as well.
